We use commercial-grade C9 bulbs on heavy socket wire, not retail strings that go brittle after one wet winter. Everything hangs on clips built for shingle edges and gutter lips. No staples, no nails, nothing drilled into fascia, nothing left behind in January.

Who are we?

Looking for professional Christmas light installation in Portland? Pioneer specializes in custom-cut C9 rooflines, stake lighting, tree and column wraps, and full displays for homes and businesses. From the first measurement to the last clip coming off in January, the same two people handle it, so there is nobody to hand you off to.

Christmas is our busy season, but exterior lighting is what we do year-round. We are not a landscaping crew borrowing a ladder for eight weeks. That shows up in how the runs are cut, how the clips are spaced, and what your house looks like from the street in February once everything is gone.

Frequently asked questions

How do you price a Christmas light install?

Every house is quoted individually, because price comes down to roofline footage, how many stories, and how much of the property you want lit. What does not change is what the number covers: bulbs, wire, clips, the install, any repairs during the season, takedown and storage until next year. There is no charge for the estimate and no deposit until you have seen the figure.

When should I book my install?

September or October. We install in the order deposits come in and the November calendar generally fills before Halloween. Booking in October also gets you the early-season discount.

What kind of lights do you install?

Commercial-grade C9 bulbs on heavy socket wire for rooflines, LED mini-lights for tree and column wraps, and stake lighting for walkways and driveways. Warm white, cool white, or color, your call.

Do I have to buy the lights?

No. We own the bulbs, wire and clips and they are included in your seasonal price. They come back to our shop in January, so you are not storing six tubs of lights in the garage either.

Will this damage my roof or gutters?

No. Everything hangs on plastic clips made for shingle edges and gutter lips. We do not staple, nail or drill into fascia, and nothing stays on the house after takedown.

Do you install for commercial buildings?

Yes. Storefronts, restaurants, office parks and HOA entrances. Where access allows we schedule commercial work outside your business hours.

Where do you install?

Portland and the surrounding area, including Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Tigard, West Linn and Happy Valley. If you are just outside that, ask anyway.
