Happy Valley is newer construction and it shows in the rooflines. Wide frontages, tall entry gables, and a lot of houses with two or three peaks facing the street. There is more linear footage here than the square footage suggests, which is exactly why we measure before quoting rather than guessing from a photo.

Those tall center gables are the feature worth spending on. Outlining the peak above the entry does more for a house from the curb than lighting every last eave, and on a lot of Happy Valley homes it is the single highest-impact run on the property.

Newer gutters and clean fascia also mean clips seat properly and stay put through a wet January, so we get fewer mid-season callbacks up here than almost anywhere else we work.

Happy Valley questions

My house has a lot of roofline. Is that a problem?

No, it is just more footage to quote. Plenty of Happy Valley homes have three or more street-facing peaks. We measure all of it, then walk you through which runs give the most visible result if you would rather not light every eave.

How do you price a Happy Valley install?

Every house is quoted individually, because it comes down to roofline footage, how many stories, and how much of the property you want lit. What does not change is what the number covers: bulbs, wire, clips, the install, repairs during the season, takedown and storage. No charge for the estimate, and no deposit until you have seen the figure.

When should I book?

September or October. We install in the order deposits come in and the November calendar generally fills before Halloween. Booking in October also gets you the early-season discount.

Do I have to buy the lights?

No. We own the bulbs, socket wire and clips and they are included in your seasonal price. They come back to our shop in January, so you are not storing tubs of lights in the garage either.

Will this damage my roof or gutters?

No. Everything hangs on plastic clips made for shingle edges and gutter lips. We do not staple, nail or drill into fascia, and nothing stays on the house after takedown.

Which parts of Happy Valley do you cover?

All of it, including Scouters Mountain, Eagle Landing, Rock Creek, Altamont, Sunnyside and Pleasant Valley, plus the surrounding Clackamas County areas. If you are just outside the city line, ask anyway.
